Modernizing 9-1-1 Crash Response. 9-1-1 Drone-as-a-First Responder (DFR). Saving Lives in Real Time.


At LiDAR Saving Lives (LSL), we are leading a national effort to modernize 9-1-1 crash response by eliminating the critical delay between airbag deployment and 9-1-1 awareness. 


Today’s outdated legacy process of telematics service provider (TSP) intermediary call centers acting as the front line to bridge the gap between airbag deployment and 9-1-1 awareness can create a dangerous time gap in emergency response. LSL is closing that gap with IP-based instantaneous processing and transmission of airbag deployment data directly to 9-1-1 systems.


Our mission is urgent: to reduce preventable traffic deaths — especially from severe blood loss — by ensuring that every second counts from the moment of impact.


We are building the world's first Global Vehicular Emergency Data Network System, where airbag deployment real-time 9-1-1 alerting, 9-1-1 Machine-to-Machine (M2M) crash response, and 9-1-1 Drone-as-First Responder (DFR) programs converge to deliver faster, smarter, life-saving emergency response.

  

The Opportunity


Each year, tens of thousands of Americans die in vehicle crashes where faster emergency response could have made the difference. LSL’s work focuses on addressing the most time-sensitive link in the chain of survival: the critical window between crash and care.


Our patent-pending crash-to-care approach integrates:


  • Airbag deployment-triggered real-time crash alerts delivered directly to 9-1-1 within 2–3 seconds.


  • Autonomous 9-1-1 Drone First Responders that arrive within seconds to assess and guide care.


  • Live AI-assisted aerial crash scene imaging to give 9-1-1 Dispatchers “eyes on the scene” instantly.


  • National Motor Vehicle Emergency Contact Registry® technology that speeds family notification and commercial/public fleet first-notice-of-loss.


We’re not just theorizing—we’re executing. LSL is the official Project Management Organization and National Education Lead for KARMA Automotive’s national coalition of academic, public safety, and industry stakeholders to demonstrate and standardize the Airbag Deployment Automation Protocol (ADAP) for integration into global 911/112/000 emergency response systems.


The ADAP represents the most significant advancement in automotive safety since the invention of seatbelts and airbags. Backed by KARMA’s leadership and executed in collaboration with top-tier universities, public safety agencies, and government partners, this initiative is building a transformative, industry-wide framework to bring life-saving technology to every vehicle on the road.
